Sam Gellaitry will release Viewfinder Vol 1: Phosphene, a 12-track compilation album on 5th April 2019 via his newly formed label, distributed globally by AWAL.
The Phosphene compilation is an expansion of his single ‘Thinking’ which was his first official single release since his Escapism series (XL Recordings) released in October last year. The concept for the compilation was born after having a year and half of not releasing music and being stuck in a head space of anticipating and thinking about where to go next on this journey.
As Sam says: ”Phosphene encapsulates that feeling when you apply pressure onto your eyelids and your vision starts to blur and spiral out of control: the more pressure applied the more it takes over. This feeling describes my past 2 years perfectly: Not being able to put my vision out to the world combined with the pressure of not doing so has created a phosphene of colours and textures which will finally be released”
Tickets on sale 7th March for Sam’s April 11th show at the Bussey Building, London
